Colorado Microplastics Project
Data collection, A collaborative project with Adventurers and Scientists for Conservation
RRAFT has partnered with ASC to collect microplastics data samples from rivers across Colorado to assist with their Global Microplastics Project! Microplastics are little tiny particles of plastic that end up in our waterways. These particles are too small to be seen, but carry nasty toxins that, in large quantities and over time, pose a threat to aquatic species, birds, and humans as they biomagnify up the food chain. ASC is compiling a comprehensive data set of microplastic samples from all over the globe in hopes to inspire future change and thwart the continuing increase of microplastics in river systems across the world!
